Jess Glynne Opens Up About Struggles in Music Industry

Jess Glynne, the renowned singer, has recently shared her experience of feeling “deeply unhappy” in the music industry. After receiving death threats during a backlash, she even questioned her return to music. Glynne, who has recently made a comeback after a five-year hiatus, revealed that she was “really burnt out” and had to be hospitalized due to exhaustion following her 2019 world tour.

In addition to her physical exhaustion, the singer also faced emotional challenges. The loss of her grandmother and a close friend made her hesitant to go back into the studio, as she felt overwhelmed by grief and fear. These personal tragedies took a toll on her mental well-being and made her question her future in the music industry.

In 2021, Glynne found herself embroiled in controversy when she was accused of transphobia after using a slur. The backlash she received was overwhelming, leading her to delete her social media accounts. Reflecting on the incident, she expressed her dismay at how quickly people can turn aggressive and jump on the bandwagon without fully understanding the context.

Glynne clarified that her intention was not to attack anyone but rather to celebrate a community she is a part of and loves. However, instead of receiving support and education, she faced death threats and other forms of online abuse. This experience left her feeling disheartened and made her wary of expressing herself publicly for a year or two.

Despite these challenges, Jess Glynne has found the strength to make a comeback and continue pursuing her passion for music. Her resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to others facing similar struggles in the industry.
